7:00 – 8:30 Presentations

Bring a short story, an article, a chapter of your current manuscript, a collection of poems, illustrations or songs, (maximum word count = 1,000).

Be prepared to ask for
and receive editorially-sound
suggestions on the work.

“Every attendee is offered the chance to share their work.”

For this to be possible:

1. Be prompt

2. Know what you have (1,000 words or less)

3. Do the math – divide the number of attendees by the time left to determine how much time you can have the group spend on your piece (preface, presentation, and critique combined)

4. Establish a purpose-setting question (what do you want from your listeners)

5. Develop partnerships to extend reading/sharing beyond the confines of the Tuesday night meetings
